RED is synonymous to the Los Angeles underground electronic dance scene.

RED first opened its doors in a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant named La HaciendaÊReal on the corner of 9th and Broadway in Los Angeles in the summer of 2000. The name "RED" originated from the red decor from the restaurant. RED soon outgrew its location and relocated to the Hollywood Arena where they averaged over 1,500 people on a weekly basis. The RAVE Act of 2002 along with increased pressure from the local government and the venue owner abruptly stalled their operations. Since then, RED has found temporary homes at the Los Angeles Entertainment Center (SOHO), Park Plaza, Larchmont and the Queen Mary. RED has finally reached an agreement with their new home at the Hollywood Avalon in 2005.

RED became the longest Friday night after-hours nightclub in 2004 and named the best after-hours spot in Los Angeles by New Times Magazine two years running. RED has also been featured in prestigious publications like the L.A. Times, L.A. Weekly and L.A. City Beat just to name a few. RED has also featured many top 100 DJ's including Paul Oakenfold, Christopher Lawrence, Judge Jules, Marco V, Benny Benassi, DJ Dan, Mauro Picotto, Blank and Jones, Mauro Piu, Bad Boy Bill, Mistress Barbara, Donald Glaude, John'00' Fleming, BT, Felix da Housecat, Scot Project, DJ Sammy, and finally Marco Bailey for our 6 year anniversary.

RED San Francisco

In 2010, RED launched their first ever party in northern california. RED San Francisco is an 18+ Friday night monthly events that promise to bring you world class headliner for our younger audience. For the 21+, full bars are always ready during our events for your enjoyment. Our vision is to bring you a safe and peaceful dance music gathering for all of us to have fun, so come check us out and don't forget to bring your smile. And yes... PLUR is NOT dead! Believe!
